Kaffe Fassett – A Life in Colour’ is a celebration of the work of one of the great practitioners of contemporary craft. This exhibition, the first in London since Kaffe Fassett’s record-breaking show at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1988, features over 100 works within a dramatic installation designed by Sue Timney.

Lesser Known Architecture is a free display celebrating extraordinary London architecture. Nominated by leading architecture critics, these ten buildings, structures and subways contribute to the mix and diversity of the city but are all too often overlooked and forgotten. 

This exhibition is the first since the Museum of London’s pioneering London on Film (1996) to show how London has been the setting - and often the star - of films for over a century. Using extracts and stills, together with rare costumes and props, Lights, Camera, London! reveals the range of what Samuel Johnson called ‘the wonderful immensity of London’. 

This small gallery exhibition among the many huge rooms of the Museum of London does its best to illustrate Michael Caine's drive, charisma and success with clips, portraits, timelines and choice quotes, celebrating another institution in this city of cockneys, royalty and landmarks.

Neptune’s Globe is a new installation which transforms the museum’s Upper Deck with an interactive world map, vast sail sculpture and audio-visual features. Picking up on the museum’s key themes of trade, conflict, migration, exploration, leisure and technology, Neptune’s Globe demonstrates the ways in which world history has been shaped by the seafaring past.

Young people reflect upon the history and legacies of Roman London and its influences on and connections with London and Londoners today; Part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Benjamin Britten is often described as the greatest English composer since Purcell.  His compositional output spans almost every musical genre, from opera to string quartets to solo songs.  Instantly recognisable, his music is imbued with the spirit of his time and place, yet it transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

The British Library's new exhibition, Propaganda: Power and Persuasion takes the journey from propaganda's known origins up until its modern manifestations. The exhibition is fun and informative – if only the curators had examined a little more about exactly who employs propaganda and rhetoric today.

The extraordinarily generous gift of 293 prints and 18 drawings presented to the British Museum by the American artist R.B. Kitaj (1932-2007) offers a timely opportunity to reassess this artist’s graphic output, being the first exhibition of his prints in London for almost twenty years. A selection of around 50 prints and some of the drawings will be shown alongside  other new acquisitions.

Consisting of 29 images including original drawings, vintage press photographs, newspapers, magazines, film lobby cards and an LP sleeve. This display includes some of the key players in the political scandal that rocked the political establishment. Art inspired by the affair includes Barry Fantoni’s record sleeve and the British Pop Artist Pauline Boty’s work Scandal ’63.
