In 2012, Mark Baldwin celebrates ten years at the helm of Rambert. As artistic director he has presented the work of over 20 international choreographers and commissioned more than 25 world premieres.
To commemorate this anniversary year, Mark has created What Wild Ecstasy, a modern day take on Nijinsky’s 100 year old L’Après-midi d’un faune. Rambert’s version of this influential work will also be performed, revived by the Company for the first time in almost 30 years.
"In the Baldwin era, Rambert has become a pre-eminent artistic force, nurturing the growing popularity of dance" DAILY TELEGRAPH
Following the critically acclaimed and multi award-nominated A Linha Curva, Israeli choreographer Itzik Galili returns with the UK premiere of his high energy work, Sub, a battlefield of relentlessly sparring testosterone.
Siobhan Davies’ irascibly fast The Art of Touch completes the programme. All four works will be played live by the Rambert Orchestra.
