What could be more Victorian than a genteel party, and what better way to portray one than the very Victorian art of decoupage?
Inspired by the Victorians’ love of craft, every Friday here at the museum is a craft day. Crafting was very popular in the late 19th century; people desired to make decorative knick-knacks to beautify their homes and satisfy their need for a practical hobby, after all the devil makes work for idle hands. With activities ranging from the traditional to the more modern there is something to please all craft enthusiasts.
